2021 & 2010 | London (GB)Marvel Universe 4D & Super Heroes 4D
In 2010, Kraftwerk Living Technologies transformed Madame Tussauds London’s former planetarium into “Super Heroes 4D,” a ground-breaking multisensory attraction.
A highlight of the project was KLT’s design of a simplified custom 4D seat, incorporating vibration, water, and air effects, as well as leg ticklers to create a dynamic layer of sensory stimulation to intensify the viewing experience whilst synchronizing seamlessly with the on-screen action and bringing the action to life!
Integrating the new 3D screen into the dome’s existing Dome system was a particular challenge. KLT developed an innovative solution for the dome’s unique shape, creating a 3D-compatible screen overlay with silver-coated synthetic panels to enhance depth and clarity. Atmospheric elements like wind, fog, and strobe lighting, combined with a state-of-the-art 7.1 Meyer Sound system featuring Acheron speakers and 700 HP subwoofers, add to the attraction’s high-end, multisensory quality.
The attraction was one of the most popular and with its high reliability partly due to our longstanding partnership and extensive service expertise on the attraction, KLT was chosen again in 2021 to execute a comprehensive theater upgrade as part of Madame Tussauds’ Marvel collaboration, resulting in the “Marvel Universe 4D” experience. Building on the original installation, KLT integrated a cutting-edge projection system with two Christie RGB laser projectors (13,500 lumens each) and four Christie 3DLP laser projectors (22,300 lumens each), enabling expansive, vivid imagery across the dome. Advanced servers supported high-quality playback, while a new 3D screen and refreshed dome surface optimized the visual setting. The upgrade also included new 3D glasses and a modernized control system, enhancing operational reliability and visual impact.
These enhancements allow Madame Tussauds London to continue captivating audiences with a state-of-the-art cinematic experience, showcasing the latest in immersive entertainment technology.
